Great Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip made a rare state visit to mark the 350th anniversary of Jamestown in 1957. The event attracted more than 1 million visitors, guests and dignitaries. Construction of Jamestown Festival Park, today known as Jamestown Settlement, and completion of the Colonial Parkway linking Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown are among the many lasting legacies left throughout Virginia from this anniversary.
Were you at Jamestown Festival Park in 1957? Did you or someone you know see the Queen or visit the ships? Did you go to the Glass House or visit the old church? Perhaps you played a role behind the scenes as a member of the military band, honor guard, as an actor, interpreter or guide. If so, we invite you to share your memories.
