Stamp and Cachet Committee

The Jamestown 2007 Stamp and Cachet Committee is coordinated by Dr. Edwin (Ned) Logan and includes members of the Williamsburg Stamp Society, the U.S. Post Office Customer Advisory Council and the Virginia Department of Education.

The group’s centerpiece project is geared toward school-age students from kindergarten through college, who will be eligible to participate in a historic art contest related to the legacies of Jamestown. The finalists will be announced and their designs will be showcased at the Washington 2006 World Philatelic Exhibition. The exhibition is held once every decade.

In addition to cachets the group is lobbying the U.S. Postal Service for at least four Jamestown 2007 commemorative stamps. The all-volunteer Stamp Group is working hard to bring to reality Jamestown commemorative stamps and cachets.
